Graduated in Medicine from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (1983), with medical residency in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology (1984–1986). She is a specialist in Rheumatology by the Brazilian Society of Rheumatology (SBR – 1986), Master's (1998) and PhD (2005) in Medicine and Health Sciences from the same institution. Professor at the PUCRS School of Medicine since 1987, serves as Adjunct Professor of Internal Medicine. Was president of the Rheumatology Society of Rio Grande do Sul for the 2010–2012 biennium. Her main research areas are: rheumatoid arthritis, laboratory diagnosis (Anti-Perinuclear Factor and Anti-CCP), ultrasonography, treatment, and prognosis. Participates in multicenter projects such as GLADAR (Latin American), QUEST-RA (worldwide), and BiobadaBrasil (national). She is a member of the Clinical Bioethics Committee of PUCRS (HSL) since 2012, of the Brazilian Registry of Biologicals Commission (BiobadaBrasil-SBR), and of the SBR Imaging Commission. Holds certification in Rheumatological Ultrasonography by SBR. Currently, serves as supervisor of the Medical Residency in Rheumatology at HSL/PUCRS (2024).
